In this article, I’ll be diving into 3 killer online visibility strategies. You’re probably not using these to their full advantage… or at all!
How do you stay known and seen in a digital world where more and more competition is constantly showing up? It sounds impossible, right? I won’t lie to you… it FELT impossible to me in the beginning.
Watching other people who entered the online scene first can be so discouraging. Do you ever wonder how they can effortlessly get TWICE as much engagement on their content as you? It’s not just about being there longer… they’ve been there so long, they have strategies that are tried and true.
If you’re wanting to have some online visibility for your business, sit tight and get ready to make some notes.
I’ve been where you’re at now. Let me share what helped me to grow a following so that you don’t have to struggle anymore!
#1: Create a content planner!
I know, I know. Planning is just SO boring, right? Still, it’s a little bit of boring now that will save you a LOT of pain later. As a matter of fact, it’s a MUST! It gives your content PURPOSE, and ensures that it’s showing up consistently. The thing is, your online visibility depends on how much content you put out there that resonates with your tribe.
It’s ideal to have ONE designated day and time that you do it every month for as long as it takes to plan out 30 days. As you master your messaging and build a more streamlined process for creating content, you’ll find that you can easily plan as far ahead as the next 90 days (and I suggest that you do!)
To efficiently and easily create content, you’ll have to be crystal clear on these 3 things…
- What your ideal client is struggling with. All of her frustrations are important to know, big or small. However, there should be constant mention of that one BIG, hairy, scary problem. That one that’s keeping her up at night. You should know it well and ALWAYS touch on it in your content.
- What they truly want. What reality does she want to create as badly as she wants to breathe?
- How they can achieve what they want through tuning in to your content. The anatomy of a compelling post should be the problem (her personal hell), the desire (what would mean heaven to her) and the solution (whether that’s a tip, or buying from you will vary). This is how you align yourself as an expert.
Already have this figured out? Awesome! One of the best ways to find out EXACTLY what area of your expertise people want to hear about most is to straight up ASK. In other words, send them an email and ask them directly.
Here’s one you can use…
I have a question for you, Client’s Name…
What are you currently struggling with when it comes to {outcome they desire}? You see, I want to start creating more free content and resources for you, but first I need to know what you want help with.
I’d love it if you would hit reply to this email and give me some insight into how I can help you. I read each and every email!
Your sign off,
-Your name. <3
Now, to have a detailed plan on what or when to post, understand that your peeps need to see these 3 kinds of posts:
- Inspirational content (Stories from your life, niche or just being in the online space that make them feel inspired and uplifted!)
- Personal content (Posts that help them relate with you and get to know you better as a person, not a business!)
- Tip posts (Helpful posts that align you as an expert!)
- Engagement posts (Just-for-fun posts that get your peeps talking. Usually a question – or even something controversial, if you’re bold enough. To be used sparingly!)
And before I move on to point number two, I want you to remember your social media content, specifically scheduling your Instagram posts. Did you know you can actually schedule your content?
When we’re talking about using powerful online visibility strategies, you’ll want to consider planning and scheduling this content in this highly used platform. Planning ahead of time only helps you become more efficient and less an overwhelmed entrepreneur.
#2: Create a content bank!
This has saved my bacon SO many times, I’ve lost count. I’m sure it’s clear to you already why this would help, so I won’t go into too much detail on that. Instead, I’ll share how I do it quickly and easily.
Believe it or not, the first step is your mindset. Why? Because I’ve found myself STUCK in my head, thinking that I didn’t have anything to share. Get that out of your head ASAP, lady! ‘Cuz you do! You have knowledge that people NEED to hear.
Even if they’ve heard it before, it doesn’t matter! People forget things. Often, information won’t sink in all the way if it’s from a source they don’t relate with, too. What if that’s YOU? You won’t know until you get it out there!
Step Two: Mind-mapping! I’ve always LOVED this for every aspect of my life. Start with your business and industry in the center. Now, what are the main topics that you deal with? For example, for marketing I have websites, social media, advertising, copy writing, media and so on.
Look at what splinters off each of those main headers. Using me as an example again, ‘websites’ might split into SEO, user experience, site mapping, functionality, etc. You will probably start to notice that you are getting a LOT of content themes, very fast!
#3. Be helpful WHEREVER possible!
Don’t just follow your competitors – engage with their fans! Being close with your competitors is great for reasons I’m sure you already know. You can learn from them, and, of course… they can even just be a supportive friend on the same journey.
But did you know you can actually find potential leads through the people who FOLLOW your competitors? This is one of the most POWERFUL online visibility strategies out there.
These followers are likely people who aren’t quite ‘sold’ yet on any one person to begin with, they’re just weighing out their options. Or, they’ve bought something small from this person before, but only enough to test the waters.
There is absolutely NOTHING shady about sharing value with them. (Out of love, not just ‘buy my stuff instead’ because that never works!)
Answer their questions, wherever they are. Her FACEBOOK GROUP. In the comments section of her YOUTUBE VIDEOS. Heck, even on someone’s timeline – she may not be able to get to everyone who asks her questions directly on her posts. If you see an opportunity to help someone, it’s not rude to step in. Share a perspective your competitor may not have.
You may resonate better with where they are, and can speak to them or teach them the way THEY would prefer anyway. Maybe your competitor is not their soul-aligned teacher, but you are. You never know!

wow i actually didn’t know about this before- thanks for sharing some great strategies that I can use right now!
These are all really super helpful tips! Planning is my weakness and will probably be my downfall if I don’t get my act together. I think that after the holidays have passed, I need to sit down and come up with a good game plan for my social planning.

I used to have a content planner, but I should jump back on that! It is helpful and helps you be organized and clear on what you need to do.
I wish I could create a content planner. It’s a little challenging to do as a beauty blogger because you are often working around brand timelines or releases. However, I think it might be helpful in allowing me to vary my content.
