Adopt this Truth about Love and Compassion
When you’re a baby, it’s alllllll about YOU. Are you hungry, bored or is your diaper wet? As we age, we slowly learn to see the needs of others…or do we?
This is actually the issue in the world today and I’m hearing more and more of my clients dealing with the lack of love and compassion in their lives.
It’s painful to give love and not have it returned—to feel invisible, unvalued, or taken for granted by people consumed by ego or selfishness. It doesn’t feel fair. You’re allowed to feel that. You’re human.
But here’s the deeper truth: Love isn’t transactional. It’s not something we give to get—though our hearts naturally long for that reciprocity. Real love is an expression of who you are, not what someone else chooses to be. You’re still worthy of love, even when others can’t or won’t give it back.
Yet, it can feel as though love is one-sided.
Not everyone has the capacity to meet you in love—but others do. Begin noticing the people you just naturally give love.
You can’t teach people to show compassion or love, sometimes people can’t love you the way you deserve—not because you’re unworthy, but because they’re trapped in their own wounds.
It’s not your job to fix them.
It’s your job to keep your heart open—while protecting it with wisdom and grace.
You are worthy of love that feels safe, kind, and true. If the people in your life can’t offer that, it’s not a reflection of your value—it’s a reflection of their limitations.
But here’s the deeper truth: Love isn’t transactional.
It’s not something we give to get—though our hearts naturally long for that reciprocity. Real love is an expression of who you are, not what someone else chooses to be. You’re still worthy of love, even when others can’t or won’t give it back.
Tell me what’s weighing on your heart.
