If figuring out how to motivate yourself as an online entrepreneur is a challenge for you, then this article will provide some solutions.
Do you feel beaten down and tired when you realize how much time you’ve invested into marketing, ads, and social media and you don’t see results?
How to Motivate Yourself as an Online Entrepreneur: Comparisonitis makes it even more difficult
Being online also means you’re usually surrounded by other people in your industry… and trusting the process can be difficult when you see them getting so much further.
Comparisonitis sets in. You wonder what makes her, or her content better. You wonder what you’re doing wrong.
“AM I actually doing anything wrong, or is it that nobody wants what I have to offer?”
I’ve been in this exact position before, and I’m here to tell you how to push past this doubt.
When you doubt yourself, you can’t show up powerfully and in the same circles as your ideal self. When you doubt the process, it’s hard to push yourself to show up consistently.
Even worse, what you DO create comes from a place of desperation, and people can sense it.
Doubt is one of the most debilitating things that we have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. We entrepreneurs talk ourselves out of doing what we need to do to create massive success in our businesses every day!
If you think about it, doubt gives power to negative thinking. I mean, who wants to give their power away to their own mind-gremlins? When we do this, it simply positions us as the “weakest link” in our sales funnel.
Stepping back for self reflection is an important step in learning how to motivate yourself.
Overcoming Doubt Is CRITICAL in Learning How to Motivate Yourself as an Online Entrepreneur.
Before the negative, doubtful thought spiral can be triggered again, you can nip it in the bud by creating NEW patterns of thinking. To do this, you need new associations.
Here are some POWERFUL brain switches to make RIGHT NOW:
- When you compare yourself to someone in your industry… Think, “If she can have this success in my industry, there’s nothing stopping me from having it too.”
Action step: Start looking at her successes from a place of love instead of lack. Look through her pictures of her exotic vacations and amazing experiences. Create a vision board of all the things you want to experience.
- If you begin to doubt that people want what you have, look at a role model and say: “They want it from her, so they can want it from me too”.
Action step: Gather at least THREE role models in your industry to be inspired by.
- When you encounter the thought, “My industry is too saturated”, change the thought to: “Everyone learns from a different teacher. I will align with a different tribe, and that’s why there’s room for EVERYONE”.
Action step: Of your THREE OR MORE role models, take a look at how each of them has a different personality that shines in their content. Think about how you can breathe more personality into yours to align with your ideal clients. (REMEMBER: It’s not just HOW you want to help- you need a vision for WHO you help too!)
Below, I’ll leave you with a free-form affirmation. Be sure to read to the end because I have some reflection questions to help your mindset more open to success!
Do this inner work to RE-focus your mind on what you’re really here to do. Here we go…
My dreams are closer to being true every day.
My dreams are always strongly present in my mind. I know where I want to go and I have what it takes to get there.
I am exactly who I need to be now, to become who I want to be.
My desire to manifest my dreams is unwavering. Each day, I take time to reprioritize my time and other resources around my highest aspirations. This helps me stay focused and motivated.
Today, I’m extremely motivated. I make progress on whatever I set out to do. Each day, I recommit to taking steps toward my dreams.
Self-Reflection Questions:
– What are some of my highest aspirations for myself? When I imagine myself having accomplished them, how do I feel?
– What would motivate me most to work on these dreams, starting today?
